How comes

One day at Thai restaurant in London where I used to work there as a part time job for a while about 2 years ago

while having dinner with my friends, a couple who just married was asking the owner about honeymoon place in Thailand

which is under the concept on the beach as it quite, individually, not many tourists and of course beautiful as well.

The owner turn to asked me as they knew that I been travel a lots in Thailand all of my head was thinking only Ranong province would be similar their concept as I been there before and my best friend running resort business there.

Ranong province,Thailand. The located is in the South of Thailand a distance of about 568 kilometers from Bangkok, and about 385 kilometers from Samui, Surat Thani.

Ranong encompass an area of about 3,298 square kilometers and bordered by the Myamar Republic on the East and the Indian Ocean on the west.

Ranong contains various natural attractions and apart from beaches, mountains and mangrove forests is blessed with hot springs. Ranong is rural Thailand’s version of a spa town.

The famous hot springs are just outside of town situated two kilometres east of town, where an arboretum and various first-class hotels cater to visitor eager to benefit from the medicinal properties of the mineral waters. (Tourismthailand:2009)

According to a recent survey there are less number of tourists who visits this place on the comparison to other province such as Samui the popular island the located is in Surat Thani province

which is in the South of Thailand together with Phuket province following Tourism organization that the visitor statistics in Ronong province in 2009 According by Office Tourism Development (2009)

shown that Thai visitors visit to Ranong in 2009 approximately 110,622 and foreigner visitors in 2009 approximately 9,616 on the other hand shown that Thai visitors visit to Phuket in 2009 approximately 306,783 and foreigner visit in 2009 approximately 987,017

and Thai visitors visit to Samui in 2009 approximately 32,019 and foreigner visit in 2009 approximately 344,556 (officetourismdevelopment:2009) for this reason above demonstrate that foreigner tourism has been known Phuket and Samui rather than Ranong and many tourists choose there as they destination.

Consequently, the more tourists is the more impact as well as damage to marine environments, and more commercial as infrastructure facility contribute for convenience also must be destroy the naturally in recently time because insufficient support in case of over crowd of people or has a large group of visitors gathered at the same period.

The idea come up as I asked them why they would not prefer to go to famous place such as Samui or Phuket and they said would not want to go to commercial place felling too busy and crowded and instead they will love to join with local people.

According above it is make me curious to know what are the factors which influence a tourist towards a new destination and how can be develop for another city which is still unknown well in Thailand

and bringing to Research proposal in order to find: What are the main factors which attract on tourist to go to new destinations: A case study in Ranong province,Thailand.

What my supervisor recomment.

After met Elizabeth I sent her my structure of reserch proposal via email and she gave feedback that " as a borad outlilne this is fine, but of course you do need to do a fairly extensive lit review. since the area you seem to be looking at is consumer behaviour" and she suggests me to look at Swarbrooke and Horner's consumer behaviour in tourism; Middletion's book on Tourism Marketing as well as looking at jornal articles on subjects such as tourist typologies, tourist motivation, purchase decision models ect. it's really helpful and of courseI would follow her guide line
